The Museu Coleção Berardo is delighted to invite you to the launch of the «Coleção Berardo 1909–2019» catalogue on Tuesday, 20 December, from 6.30pm to 8pm. 

«Coleção Berardo 1909-2019» undertakes a comprehensive revision of the principles that guided the formation of the collection, establishing relationships between the works selected and their corresponding artistic movements and trends. With 523 images of works and historical context provided through texts by Margarida de Lopes Grilo, Teresa Neto, Daniel Peres, and João Tomé, the catalogue also seeks to highlight the collection's strong museological and didactic nature.

Designed by Pedro Falcão and available in a choice of four dustjackets, Coleção Berardo 1909–2019 includes essays by Pedro Lapa (catalogue editor), Giulia Lamoni, Jean-François Chougnet, and Rita Lougares, as well as an interview with the collector himself, José Berardo. We also highlight the extensive work in compiling register information for each of the works reproduced.

The book will be presented by Pedro Lapa, Jean-François Chougnet, and Rita Lougares, the three directors of the Museum over the last 15 years. The presentation will be followed by a cocktail function.
