Invitation | Opening: Gérard Fromanger. Splendour | 16/02, Wednesday, from 7 to 10 p.m.
The Museu Coleção Berardo and the France–Portugal Season 2022 have the pleasure of inviting you to the opening of Gérard Fromanger's exhibition "Splendour", on Wednesday, 16 February, from 7 to 10 p.m., with Free Admission.
Evento no Facebook: facebook.com/events/471388571063776.
The Gérard Fromanger (1939–2021) exhibition at Museu Coleção Berardo marks the official opening of the France-Portugal Season 2022 and features a number of series that characterise the artist's work: twenty-six in all, including more than sixty major paintings. Each period, comprising reassessments, ruptures, recompositions, and different techniques, forms a highly coherent whole. The series have an internal logic within the artist’s work and mark the different eras within his personal biography, his encounters and his relationship with current events, and, more broadly, with history.
Gérard Fromanger’s oeuvre is that of a great explorer of the world around him, in permanent sympathy with Walter Benjamin’s flâneur aesthetic, and even with Guy Debord’s "dérives".
Curator: Éric Corne.
The opening will feature musical and dance performances by the Lisbon National Conservatory Artistic School of Music — EAMCN and the Lisbon National Conservatory Artistic School of Dance — EADCN.
At 7 p.m. on Thursday, 17 February, a conference with Marianne Mathieu, Anne Dary, and Serge July will be held at the Institut Français du Portugal, Rua Santos-O-Velho 11, Lisbon.
Exposição patente até / Exhibition on view until: 29/05/2022.
