The Museu Coleção Berardo has the pleasure of inviting you to the opening of Miguel Telles da Gama's exhibition Under the Skin, on Wednesday, 6 July, from 5 to 9 p.m., with Free Admission.

This survey exhibition includes the artist’s most recent project as well as different groups of pieces selected from three decades’ worth of work.

Not entirely adhering to chronological order, this show presents works that take drawing and citation as a basis for imaginary evocations, evolving into a constant use of graphic design and both photographic and cinematographic images, and moving from fragments of traditional decorative arts to the empty reflection of 16th-century ceremonial suits of armour. The skins are multiple, as are the inscriptions drawn or written on them: they all show, they all hide, they all appear, they all disappear, somehow revealing what is hidden beneath the skin, dissatisfaction and a desire for change brought together in a single transformational drive.
